Hungary says wants more ports to export Ukrainian grain
BUDAPEST, Jun 23 (PRIME) -- Hungary plans to negotiate with Turkey an increase of the number of ports exporting Ukrainian grain under the grain deal, Agriculture Minister Istvan Nagy said on Friday after a meeting with counterpart in Poland Robert Telus as cited by the Agriculture Ministry.
"The current solidarity routes do not fulfill their role because the products remain in the countries neighboring Ukraine. We earlier ended up with 40–50 tonnes of grain, now with 2.5 million tonnes,” Nagy said.
“The goal is to expand the traditional sea transport route which carries only 12% of Ukrainian products now."
Telus said that Poland would support the initiative.
